Where to stay in Ibiza 2027: areas compared

Choosing where to stay in Ibiza 2027 is the decision that shapes everything else about your trip: how much you spend on taxis, how much sleep you get, which beaches you can walk to and whether a superclub night ends with a five-minute stroll or a forty-minute ride across the island. Ibiza is small, but its areas could hardly be more different. Playa d'en Bossa is a strip of beach hotels with Ushuaïa and Hï on the doorstep; Ibiza Town combines a UNESCO-listed old town with the marina and Pacha; San Antonio is the west-coast party town famous for its sunsets; Santa Eulària and the east coast are calm and family-friendly; and the north and south-west offer rural villas, boutique hotels and quiet coves far from the noise. There is no single best base, only the best base for the trip you want.

This guide compares the main areas honestly, with who each one suits, how well it is connected to the clubs and beaches, and the trade-offs that holiday listings rarely mention. It reflects the island as it was during the 2026 season; accommodation prices for 2027 have not been published, but the seasonal pattern is very consistent from one year to the next, with July and August far more expensive than May, early June, late September and October. If your trip revolves around specific nights, wait until the 2027 residencies are announced, usually in the first months of the year, or at least choose an area well connected to several clubs. Each area also has its own detailed page, linked below, with more on beaches, nightlife and transport.

How to choose where to stay in Ibiza 2027: three questions

Start with three questions. First, how many nights will you go out, and where? If you plan several nights at Ushuaïa, Hï and DC10, staying in Playa d'en Bossa saves hours of travel and a lot of money; if your nights are spread between Pacha, Amnesia and [UNVRS], Ibiza Town or the area between the capital and San Antonio makes more sense. Second, how much do you care about sleep and calm? The busiest strips stay loud until morning in peak season, which is perfect for some groups and miserable for others. Third, will you hire a car? Without one, choose a town or resort with good bus links and night buses; with one, the rural north and south-west open up, along with their beautiful coves and sunsets. Answer those three honestly and the shortlist usually narrows to one or two areas. Budget comes next: in high summer, every area is expensive, but San Antonio and Figueretes generally offer more affordable rooms than the marinas and the luxury resorts.

Playa d'en Bossa: the clubbing base for Ibiza 2027

Playa d'en Bossa is a long beach just south of Ibiza Town, lined with hotels, apartments, beach clubs and bars, and it is the obvious base if your trip is built around the big south-coast clubs. Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza face each other on the strip, DC10 is a short ride away near the airport, and Ibiza Town is about ten minutes by taxi. The area is also close to the airport, served by a dedicated bus line in summer, and linked to Ibiza Town by bus and by the Aquabus. Well-known hotels here include the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, whose guests have access to the daytime parties, and the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza. The downside is noise: in July and August, music and crowds carry on late, and some parts of the strip feel more resort than island. For a group of friends planning several big nights, though, it is hard to beat. Our Playa d'en Bossa 2027 guide goes into detail.

Ibiza Town and Talamanca: culture, marina and Pacha for Ibiza 2027

Ibiza Town, known locally as Eivissa, suits first-timers and travellers without a car who want a bit of everything. The fortified old town of Dalt Vila, part of the UNESCO World Heritage listing since 1999, the port with its restaurants and boutiques, and the ferries to Formentera are all here, along with the main bus station. Pacha sits just north of the centre, Chinois is in town, and Playa d'en Bossa, Amnesia and [UNVRS] are a short taxi ride away. Talamanca, a sheltered bay a short walk from the marina, combines a calm, shallow beach with easy access to the town; the Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay is on this side of the bay. Figueretes, the beach neighbourhood just south of the centre, is usually more affordable and is served in summer by the airport bus that also reaches Playa d'en Bossa. Expect higher prices around the marinas and limited parking in the evening. For more, read our Ibiza Town 2027 guide.

San Antonio: sunsets and a party town to stay in for Ibiza 2027

San Antonio, or Sant Antoni de Portmany, on the west coast, is the island's other party capital, with a very different feel from the south. Its Sunset Strip of bars facing the sea is famous, the town is the departure point for the big boat parties, and it has its own venues, including O Beach, Ibiza Rocks Hotel with its pool parties, Eden and Es Paradis, plus 528 Ibiza in the hills above the town. Accommodation is often more affordable than in the south-east, and boats cross the bay to Cala Bassa and Cala Conta, two of the most popular beaches on the island. The trade-off is distance to the superclubs: Amnesia and [UNVRS] are around twenty minutes away, and Ushuaïa, Hï and DC10 are on the other side of the island, so expect nightly bus or taxi rides. Note too that the West End is covered by the Balearic rules restricting late alcohol sales and promotions. Our San Antonio Ibiza 2027 page explains the different parts of the bay.

Santa Eulària and the east coast: a calm Ibiza 2027 base

Santa Eulària des Riu, on the east coast, is the island's third town and the favourite base of families, couples and visitors who want comfort and calm with the option of an occasional big night out. It has a pleasant promenade, a marina, good restaurants and easy access to the east-coast beaches. Nearby Es Canar hosts the Punta Arabí hippy market on Wednesdays in season, and Cala Llonga is a relaxed bay with a sandy beach popular with children and a direct bus to Ibiza Town. Nikki Beach is on this stretch of coast near Santa Eulària. The east is well served by daytime buses, including the airport line to Santa Eulària and Es Canar, and in 2026 a night bus also linked Ibiza Town with Santa Eulària and Es Canar during the main season. Superclub nights mean a ride of twenty to thirty minutes, which is a reasonable price for quiet nights. Our Santa Eulària 2027 guide covers the area.

North Ibiza and the south-west: rural stays in Ibiza 2027

The north of the island, around Sant Joan de Labritja, Portinatx and Sant Miquel, is green, hilly and much quieter, with small coves, villages, agroturismos and luxury retreats such as Six Senses Ibiza and Hacienda Na Xamena, both in the municipality of Sant Joan. It suits travellers who want nature, yoga, long lunches and sunsets, and who will drive to the clubs only occasionally. The south-west, around Sant Josep de sa Talaia, combines rural villas with some of the most beautiful and exclusive beaches, such as Cala d'Hort facing Es Vedrà, Cala Jondal and the coves near Cala Tarida, and it is closer to the south-coast clubs than the north. In both areas, a hire car is close to essential, public transport is limited and parking at popular beaches fills early. Remember that the island limits the number of vehicles in summer, which can affect rental availability, so book a car at the same time as your accommodation. See our North Ibiza 2027 guide.

Hotels, apartments or villas when you stay in Ibiza 2027

The type of accommodation matters as much as the area. Hotels range from simple seaside buildings to some of the most expensive resorts in the Mediterranean, and many of the large ones in Playa d'en Bossa and San Antonio are built around pools that host daytime parties in summer, which is either a selling point or a warning depending on your plans. Apartments are popular with groups of friends, often cheaper per person and useful for breakfasts and pre-drinks, but check the rules on noise and guests, as neighbours and owners are increasingly strict. Villas in the countryside offer privacy and space, usually with a pool, but come with transport costs and minimum stays in peak season. Boutique hotels and agroturismos in the north and inland offer charm and calm. Whatever you choose, read the cancellation conditions carefully, confirm whether the tourist tax is included or charged on arrival, and check the walking distance to the nearest bus stop before booking.

When to book where you stay in Ibiza 2027

For July and August, booking early is not optional: hotel occupancy on the island was close to 90 per cent in July 2026, and the best-located rooms near the clubs and beaches go first. Aggregator data published in 2026 showed summer hotel averages several times higher than in the quietest months, with the peak in July or August depending on the source, so the shoulder months offer real savings. For the opening weekend, which in 2026 fell between 24 and 27 April, and the closing weekend in early to mid October, demand is concentrated on a few nights and rooms near Playa d'en Bossa and Ibiza Town can sell out quickly once the dates are announced. A flexible booking made early, then adjusted once the 2027 calendar is confirmed, is a sensible strategy. Use the alert on this page to be told when opening and closing dates are announced, and read our Ibiza budget 2027 guide to see how accommodation fits into the overall cost of the trip.

Where to stay in Ibiza 2027: frequently asked questions

These are the questions readers ask most often when comparing areas for their trip, usually after realising that the island's resorts are more different from one another than the holiday websites suggest. The answers below are based on how the island worked during the 2026 season, including the bus network run by Alsa since April 2026, the night buses linking the resorts with the clubs, and the seasonal pattern of accommodation prices. They will be updated once the 2027 club calendar is confirmed, because the best base for a party-focused trip depends on which venues host the residencies you want to see. For a deeper look at a specific area, follow the links to the detailed guides for Playa d'en Bossa, Ibiza Town, San Antonio, Santa Eulària and the north, each of which covers beaches, nightlife, transport and accommodation types for that part of the island in much more detail.

What is the best area to stay in Ibiza 2027 for clubbing?

For most clubbers, Playa d'en Bossa is the most practical base, because Ushuaïa and Hï are on the strip and DC10 is a short ride away, so many nights end with a walk rather than a taxi queue. Ibiza Town is an excellent alternative if your nights include Pacha, Chinois, Amnesia or [UNVRS], and it gives you the old town, restaurants and ferries during the day. San Antonio suits people who want sunsets, boat parties and pool parties at O Beach and Ibiza Rocks, and who do not mind travelling to the superclubs by night bus or taxi. The ideal choice depends on where the residencies you care about take place, which is why it can pay to wait until the 2027 programme is announced before committing to a non-refundable booking. If you cannot wait, choose a well-connected base with good night-bus links rather than a cheap room far from everything.

Where should families stay in Ibiza 2027?

Families usually prefer Santa Eulària des Riu and the east coast, including Cala Llonga and Es Canar, which combine calm sandy beaches, a relaxed atmosphere, good restaurants and solid daytime bus links. Talamanca, near Ibiza Town, is another good option, with a shallow, sheltered bay and easy access to the capital and its sights. The north, around Portinatx and Sant Joan, suits families who want peace and nature and are happy to drive. Families generally avoid the busiest parts of Playa d'en Bossa and San Antonio's West End in high summer, when music and crowds continue late into the night. Whatever area you choose, check that your accommodation is not built around a party pool, read recent reviews for noise, and consider travelling in June or September, when the sea is warm and the island is noticeably calmer than in August, while beach facilities, boat trips and restaurants are all fully open.

Is it cheaper to stay in Ibiza 2027 in San Antonio or Playa d'en Bossa?

San Antonio and nearby areas generally offer more affordable accommodation than Playa d'en Bossa, Ibiza Town's marinas or the luxury resorts of the south-west, especially for groups of friends sharing apartments for a week or more. But the cheapest room is not always the cheapest trip. If most of your nights are at Ushuaïa, Hï or DC10, staying in San Antonio means a ride across the island each night, on the Discobus or by taxi, which was around 25 to 30 euros each way in 2026. Over a week, those journeys can wipe out the savings on the room. Conversely, if you plan to spend your evenings at the Sunset Strip, the boat parties and the venues around the bay, San Antonio is both cheaper and more convenient. Compare the total cost, room plus transport, for the nights you actually plan, and the right answer usually becomes obvious within a few minutes of simple arithmetic.
